Daniel Glaser is a visual artist based in Northern Bavaria, Germany. In his interdisciplinary practice, which incorporates design and photography as methodological tools, he examines how humans perceive their environment, interact with it, and shape it. In this pursuit, Glaser cultivates an exploratory, generative process that allows for the emergence of new, unpredictable perspectives. The resulting works, such as sculptures, installations, graphics, and photographs, are understood by the artist as components of a holistic system that reveals potentials and creates a foundation for discourse.

Practice
Daniel Glaser's work forges a path through the myriad physical, symbolic, and metaphorical layers surrounding us, by which we consciously and subconsciously construct our reality. Driven by feral curiosity and equipped with a toolkit of adaptive approaches, Glaser progressively navigates this web of material and mental mass to create new paths and establish a network of connections between seemingly incompatible territories. Critical engagement with societal norms and conventions, rather than a defined objective, emerges as an inherent aspect of the process. For the artist, it serves as appropriate footwear for exploring even difficult terrain. The potentials unleashed in this process manifest over time in a series of forms – similar to footprints left when traversing open ground. Daniel Glaser’s focus is not merely on deconstructing and constructing form or meaning, but on creating a composition of subtle to striking sensory stimuli that provoke lasting psychological resonance. With regard to materials used, Glaser proceeds uncompromisingly and pragmatically, following his subjective material-aesthetic sensibility. Daniel Glaser’s work opens up a space that encourages thematic and conceptual engagement, and with it, an impulse toward autonomous action.
